As reported by the General Staff , the army has introduced a simplified mechanism for sending a letter of recommendation from the military unit where a serviceman wants to transfer to the one where he is currently serving. The new procedure involves the use of electronic document management tools, which should reduce the time for processing the document and eliminate some unnecessary approvals.
The General Staff notes that such a mechanism guarantees mandatory consideration of the letter by the unit commander as soon as possible. In fact, this means that the document no longer has to go through the entire chain of lower-level commanders, where the process could be delayed or dependent on the human factor.
Thanks to this, the serviceman does not need to separately contact the commanders of the detachment, platoon, company or battalion to forward the letter of recommendation further. It is precisely the rejection of such an intermediate chain of approvals, according to the General Staff, that should reduce the subjective influence on the decision on transfer and simplify the internal logistics of personnel changes.
For the system itself, this is another example of how even point-based digitalization can affect daily processes in the military. In this case, we are not talking about a combat IT system, but about transferring a paper-based personnel procedure to an electronic channel, where the document moves faster and with less risk of getting stuck at one of the stages.
In recent months, more and more service processes in the army have been transferred to digital format. In particular, earlier in "Army+" there was already the possibility of submitting electronic reports on changing the place of service. Now digitalization has also affected the inter-unit exchange of documents, which directly affects personnel decisions within the army.
