Chinese automaker Chery has begun using its own humanoid robots as salespeople in car dealerships.
Chery created a robotics division in mid-2024, which developed a humanoid robot called AIMOGA — an acronym that stands for Artificial Intelligence with Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm, The Register reports .
AIMOGA is integrated with DeepSeek AI models. The robot can walk, understand human speech, and respond in 10 languages. Chery says it has a “human-like motion library” that “enhances interaction, offering users a more natural and engaging experience.”
The robot has 41 degrees of freedom in all its parts, 12 degrees of freedom for each arm and one degree in the elbow joint.
The company claims that AIMOGA is capable of performing complex, human-like operations with amazing accuracy.
The robot can walk at a speed of one meter per second and has a five-sided sensor array that allows it to "avoid obstacles at the centimeter level and dynamically plan its path in difficult conditions."
Chery has deployed AIMOGA to work at its flagship 4S dealerships in Malaysia and plans to do the same in other countries.
