GUR revealed new data on the production and components of enemy drones
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine’s GUR updated the «Weapon Components» section on the War&Sanctions portal and added new data on the production cooperation of the Russian Orion drone, as well as on the electronic components of the Iranian Shahed-107 and the Russian Phoenix.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine’s GUR updated the «Weapon Components» section on the War&Sanctions portal and added new data on the production cooperation of the Russian Orion drone, as well as on the electronic components of the Iranian Shahed-107 and the Russian Phoenix.
As the Main Intelligence Directorate reported on its Telegram channel, an expanded dossier on enterprises related to the production of the Orion strike reconnaissance UAV, also known as the Inokhodets, as well as new data on foreign components found in the Shahed-107 and the systems of the Russian Phoenix drone, has appeared in the War&Sanctions database.
The biggest update concerns the Orion, which is manufactured by the sanctioned Kronstadt group. Another 19 companies were added to the base, supplying elements for anti-icing and fuel systems, flight and navigation equipment, as well as components of the radio-electronic complex for command and information interaction. After this, the total number of enterprises involved in the production of this drone increased to 70.
Separately, the GUR added another 30 electronic components to the database, which were identified as part of the Iranian Shahed-107 and the gyro-stabilized optical-electronic system QIR50TPRO of the Russian reconnaissance UAV «Phoenix». At the same time, the component database of the Shahed-107 was also supplemented with another 15 items found in another sample of this drone used by the enemy.
The intelligence community emphasizes that the publication of such data sets is necessary not only to document the composition of enemy weapons, but also for international work with sanctions and restrictions on the supply of critical parts. The more we know about production chains, participating companies, and the origin of specific components, the easier it is for Ukraine’s partners to more accurately target the logistics of the Russian military-industrial complex.
This update is also important because War&Sanctions is gradually turning not just into a public archive, but into a tool for tracking cooperation around Russian and Iranian strike systems. Against the backdrop of attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and the worsening security situation in the Middle East, such databases help to show exactly how technologies used for terror and strikes on peaceful objects are spreading.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published an interactive 3D model of the Izdelie-30 cruise missile and a detailed description of its components and components, including a list of electronics of foreign origin.
