I-SEE has introduced an API, SDK, and plugin system for its anti-drone complex. Who can use it and how?

The developer of the I-SEE UAV detection and destruction system announced the expansion of the platform: the complex received three integration circuits — a software application interface (API), a developer kit (SDK), and a system of plug-in modules (plug-ins).

As I-SEE informed dev.ua, now a division, integrator, or third-party engineer can connect their own hardware and software to the I-SEE core and add the missing function without waiting for an update from the vendor.

At the moment, the complex is already successfully working with net-shooters, and the integration of turrets and electronic warfare equipment is currently at the stage of active laboratory testing. In the near future, as promised, autonomous drones should also be expected.

«Until now, all of this has worked as a single entity within one program. The main change the team is announcing is architectural: I-SEE is transforming from a closed product into an open platform,» I-SEE told us.

From now on, I-SEE data can be entered into a third-party command post system, a tactical map, an event log, or an adjacent complex — without reverse engineering and «crutches.»

In order not to force every integrator to write from scratch, the team released a ready-made developer toolkit that includes a client library and a web tester.

«The entry threshold for a developer is minimal, and this is a conscious design decision. You can connect and start receiving data literally in one evening,» I-SEE says.

The most notable part of the announcement at I-SEE is called the plugin system, which allows a third-party developer to add their module — and when launched, the program itself finds, checks, loads, and displays it in the interface: a panel, a video overlay, or a settings tab.

«Along with the announcement, working example modules and a template for your own development are provided. That is, this is not a promise, but a working result that can be taken as a basis,» say the I-SEE developers.

The developers also emphasize security: extensions work in a controlled environment, and the module gets access to exactly what it is allowed to do, and cannot interfere with the operation of the kernel or other modules. «The failure of one plugin does not fail the system — it simply shuts down, and the operator sees the reason,» the developers say.

As for the application circuit, a third-party module can be a driver for equipment — a turret, a net gun, electronic warfare equipment — and execute commands, but the decision on application always remains with the I-SEE core and the operator.

Previously, dev.ua wrote that a Ukrainian IT professional developed I-SEE software for detecting enemy drones, namely an AI system for early detection, classification, and tracking of UAVs in real time.

"Your AI eyes that grab drones by the tail before they become a problem." Aitivets developed the I-SEE drone detection system. 25 million UAH were spent on the development, but it will cost the military "a penny." What we learned
