The growth in the number of enrolled students was recorded in all IT specialties without exception - both in the budget and contract forms of study, reports DOU.
Budget: 14,100 entrants enrolled (+14% compared to 2025).
Contract: 14,900 entrants enrolled (+37% compared to 2025).
The following areas demonstrated the greatest increase in enrolled students (in general and on a budget basis in particular):
"Automation and robotics" — +58%;
"Aviation and rocket and space technology" — +54%;
"Information and measurement technologies" — +50%;
"Electronics" — +49%;
"Systems analysis and data science" — +45%.
The number of state-funded employees in the specialty "Statistics" also increased by 25%, which is due to the increase in the volume of state orders.
The following universities enrolled the most students in IT specializations in 2026: Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Lviv Polytechnic University, KhNURE, VNTU, Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
We remind you that this year, applicants submitted more than 160,000 applications for IT specialties . The most popular among them were cybersecurity, robotics, and data analysis.
