During 2025, within the framework of the state program eBook, 18-year-old Ukrainians purchased 434,808 books — an average of about 1,200 books per day. The total amount of expenses amounted to UAH 139,838,763.99, the Committee for Humanitarian and Information Policy reported , citing the Ukrainian Book Institute.
300 stationary bookstores and 35 online bookstores participated in the program. The largest share of spending fell on online bookstores — 58.71% or 82,097,775.86 UAH. Physical bookstores throughout Ukraine — 41.29% or 57,740,988.13 UAH.
The leaders among book distributors were Bookstore "E", "Yakabu", KSD, "Knygoland" and "Ridit". Among publishers, the leaders were KSD, Vivat, BookChef, Ranok and VSL.
98.64% of purchases were for printed publications, while e-books and audiobooks accounted for only 1.36%.
Let us remind you that from January 1, 2026, the 18th birthday allowance within the framework of the eBook state program is UAH 998.4.
