The digital future of Central and Eastern Europe is being created today, and at the heart of this transformation is the deployment of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. The FTTH Congress Central Eastern Europe (CEE) has established itself as the leading regional forum where policymakers, operators, technology leaders and investors come together to shape the future of connectivity. This year’s event promises to be more influential than ever as the region continues to expand its role in Europe’s digital economy.
The event will take place on 7-8 October 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Warsaw, Poland. The Congress will examine the policies, investment strategies and technological advances that are accelerating the deployment of fiber networks in Central and Eastern Europe. As governments set ambitious broadband targets and communities demand resilient digital infrastructure, the event will provide much-needed insight into the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Why is it worth visiting?
Attendees will gain first-hand insights from regulators, senior executives and innovators at the forefront of fiber deployment in Europe. Discussions will cover investment models, public-private partnerships, advances in network architecture, sustainability and the role of fiber as the foundation for 5G and smart cities. FTTH Congress Central Eastern Europe is also an unrivaled networking platform, bringing together decision-makers from across the telecom ecosystem to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore new business opportunities.
Who is participating?
The aim of this congress is to bring together over 400 key stakeholders from the Central and Eastern European markets, as well as the wider European market, together with European policymakers interested in the region. The previous event brought together a significant number of C-suite level representatives and directors from telecom operators, investors, policymakers and suppliers from all countries of South-Eastern Europe. We expect a similar profile of participants at the second edition of the event, which will take place in Warsaw.
Why Central and Eastern Europe?
With more than 13 million households still to be connected, countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, the Baltic States, Ukraine, Romania and Moldova represent significant opportunities for investment and network expansion. Poland is rapidly increasing FTTH coverage, planning 1.1 million new connections by 2027, supported by national targets, EU funding and private investment. The Czech Republic is also making progress, aiming to connect one million households by 2026 through government-backed infrastructure upgrades.
FTTH Congress Central Eastern Europe will feature hour-long sessions dedicated to individual countries covered by the event. This will include a special session dedicated to Romania, featuring leading fiber providers and investment companies. It will focus on the FTTH landscape in Romania and provide a detailed overview of the current state of fiber deployment, the policy environment and the investment climate.
The session will be attended by:
Veronica Bocarova: Head of Regulatory Training and Capacity Building, Cullen International
Adrian Racasan: CEO, Netcity
Iulian Gimiga: Passive Access Network Manager, Orange Romania
Cornel Barbut: Vice President, AFOR — Romanian Fiber Optics Association
Eric Andrei Băleanu: President, Interlan Association
