NetBlocks, an organization that monitors the Internet, reported that traffic levels in Iran had fallen to 4% of normal levels.
«Iran is currently in a state of near-total internet blackout. «This incident occurred against the backdrop of US-Israeli hostilities and is consistent with measures taken during last year’s war with Israel,» NetBlocks noted.

Israel’s defense minister announced the mission of a «preemptive strike» on Iran as part of Operation Lion’s Roar. US President Donald Trump later confirmed that this was a joint military operation aimed at destroying Iran’s missile capabilities.
Following the bombings in its capital, Iran responded by launching several waves of missile attacks on Israel and US bases in Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait.
Journalist Khosro Esfahani reported that on February 28, an Iranian prayer time tracking app was hacked and began publishing messages calling for the laying down of arms and announcing that «help is coming.» According to other reports, several major Iranian media outlets were also hacked.
