Drone Fight Group has created a system that turns a regular car into a remote-controlled one. How does the "Boar" work?

Ukrainian company Drone Fight Group (DFG) has developed a remote control system for cars called "Kaban". It can be installed on cars and controlled remotely, leaving the driver the opportunity to switch to manual control at any time. The first systems have already been delivered to three units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Kaban" has already been transferred to the 3rd Army Corps, the 429th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems "Achilles" and the 49th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The system has already passed combat tests, and the developers continue to refine it based on military feedback. The project is being created with the support of Brave1.

The system can be installed on an existing vehicle. The operator will then be able to remotely control the vehicle, view a digital map, and plot routes and place markers on it. The system also shows the predicted trajectory. If GPS is being spoofed, the vehicle's position can be corrected manually.

The main communication channel with the car is Starlink, but the "Boar" also supports radio control and analog video transmission. If communication with the operator is lost, the car can automatically stop. The operator can also remotely turn on the lights, spotlights and infrared illumination. The system also has two-way audio communication and the ability to receive information from the car's on-board computer.

A similar idea was previously tested by the Russians. In November 2025, a video of a remotely controlled UAZ-452 "Bukhanka" appeared on the Internet, which was noticed by a specialist in military radio technologies Sergey "Flash" Beskrestnov. The Russian car received a removable remote control module, so the operator controlled the car via a laptop using a gaming steering wheel and pedals. Russian sources also claimed support for Wi-Fi, radio channel, 4G and Starlink.

Previously, dev.ua wrote that the company INFOCOM LTD had been working on remote control of conventional cars since 2014.
