The first to draw attention to the problem were social media users, who previously reported that they had not found a single STALKER 2 collectible card. Now, Twitter user Olga Karpenko reported that cashiers in one of the stores have already announced the actual termination of the promotion.
«The cashier at ATB just said that the promotion was ended early (all promotional materials were removed). If this is true, ATB and GSC are in for a shitstorm of 9 points on the Richter scale,» she noted.
Karpenko added that she called the ATB hotline, where at first the operators denied the end of the promotion, but later confirmed that there would be no new deliveries and that the stores would only «sell what they have.» According to users, the lack of official communication from the companies could cause a wave of indignation among fans of the franchise.
The dev.ua editorial team has reached out to Loyalty Games, a partner in the collaboration between ATB and GSC Game World, for an official comment to find out the real extent of the shortage and whether an additional circulation of cards is planned.
Recall that on April 15, the GSC Game World studio, together with the ATB supermarket chain, launched a collaboration dedicated to the game «STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl». Fans of the game can collect thematic collectible cards and insert them into a special almanac-artbook, which turned out to be a rare artifact due to speculators. The promotion was supposed to last until June 9.
Previously, a dev.ua journalist joined the hunt for the almanac and told how he managed to get a copy almost in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, and also shared life hacks on how to get more diverse collectible cards.
