Taras Kovaliv from Aityte spoke about his aggregator of Ukrainian bookstores, Kebuk, which allows users to compare book prices. The service also has a number of other features.
«I want it to be convenient to buy books in Ukraine, so that people pirate less, and publishers and authors receive their reward», Kovalev explained.
According to the developer, he has collected over 25 stores for price comparison, but he hasn’t limited himself to just this functionality. He noted that over the past year he has added:
A reading diary to track your reading. -
Ability to keep lists of books. -
Reviews and discussions. -
Secondary market (you can view/post ads for selling books).
The Kebuk website notes that the goal of the project is to create a large community of book lovers in Ukraine and a convenient space for discussion.
«We believe in the importance of e-books as a modern and convenient format. The accessibility and ease of purchasing e-books will help increase their sales and unite more people around reading,» the service description states.
Kovalev notes that he wants to help publishers «unleash the potential of digital formats» and believes that Kebuk will help fight piracy and show the convenience of access to books, their value and importance.
«We also aim to foster the development of the secondary market for books, making them more accessible to a wider audience. This is one of our key goals for 2026 — to create an ecosystem where books find their new readers and people have the opportunity to share their favorite works,» the developer explained.
This year, Taras Kovaliv plans to add more tools to share what he has read (monthly summaries, social media reviews, etc., asynchronous reading clubs, more options for where to borrow a book, achievements, challenges, and other activities for the Kebuk community.
«Our daily traffic is insignificant compared to what happened yesterday.» Kidruk’s website collapsed after the announcement of the second book in the «New Dark Ages» series
