The head of the technology giant said this during a speech at the Goldman Sachs conference, Business Insider reports. According to Huang, businesses will increasingly use artificial intelligence to automatically detect vulnerabilities in software and protect against digital threats.
The head of NVIDIA emphasized that cybersecurity is a natural extension of software development.
«The derivative of programming, of course, is bug-finding. And the derivative of that, which is a very large market, is cybersecurity,» said Jensen Huang.
He also highlighted a key difference between coding assistants and security systems. While coding assistants only respond to specific user requests, AI cybersecurity solutions operate 24/7. This means that companies will pay for them to operate 24/7, creating a steady stream of revenue for developers.
NVIDIA’s forecast is in line with the general market trend. For her part, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar also said that her company sees cybersecurity as a significant «commercial opportunity.»
NVIDIA is already actively strengthening its position in the security space. The company announced partnerships with CrowdStrike, Cisco and Palantir to jointly develop AI-based protection tools. At the same time, researchers at Anthropic warn that the uncontrolled development of algorithms could create new threats by enabling more sophisticated cyberattacks.
