116 Russian TV channels showed burning oil refineries for three hours — it was a gift from cyberguerrillas for Ukraine's Independence Day
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that hackers managed to hack the Russian provider «No. 3» and display a video on Russian television screens about the real results of a full-scale Russian invasion.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that hackers managed to hack the Russian provider «No. 3» and display a video on Russian television screens about the real results of a full-scale Russian invasion.
This was reported by «Ukrainska Pravda» with reference to a source in the Military Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. It is noted that the cyber partisan managed to block the access of the provider’s administrators to the servers, making it more difficult for them to interrupt the broadcast of an unplanned video.
It was watched by at least 50,000 subscribers from Moscow and other regions of Russia for more than three hours straight. The video showed explosions at Russian oil refineries, footage from Operation Spiderweb, the explosion of a Ukrainian drone over the Kremlin, and figures of Russian casualties in the war against Ukraine.
The GUR noted that hackers managed to broadcast video not only through digital TV, but also in applications from the Apple Store, Google Play, and Smart TV services, as well as in cable networks.
Previously, cyber specialists from the military-partisan movement «Atesh» disabled the key Kremlin-owned commodity exchange SPIMEX, which carries out 99% of organized trading in oil and oil products, gas, coal, timber, metals, building materials, and agricultural products.
Previously, one of the co-founders of the Ukrainian Cyber Alliance, Andriy Baranovich (known as Sean Townsend), stated that his organization takes responsibility for the hacking of the Russian satellite operator Dozor-Teleport in 2023. Previously, this hacking was attributed to the Wagner group during the so-called «Prigoghin rebellion» against the Russian authorities.
Hackers from the Atesh guerrilla movement attacked the largest commodity exchange in the Russian Federation, where millions of petrodollars pass through every day.
Ukrainian hackers have claimed responsibility for the high-profile hack of a Russian satellite provider that served the FSB and the enemy army. Previously, everyone believed that it was the Wagner Group that did it.
