“I specially went there on his first working day and watched as the entire Polish office spoke to him in bad English.” Klimov spoke about the “historic” appointment of the CEO of Nova Poshta in Poland
Co-owner of the NOVA group of companies (Nova Poshta), Vyacheslav Klimov, considers the appointment of Jakub Karon as the head of Nova Poshta in Poland to be a historic step, as this is the first time a local top manager has headed this company’s business in another country.
Co-owner of the NOVA group of companies (Nova Poshta), Vyacheslav Klimov, considers the appointment of Jakub Karon as the head of Nova Poshta in Poland to be a historic step, as this is the first time a local top manager has headed this company’s business in another country.
«Literally three weeks ago, a historic event took place when we invited a Pole to the position of CEO of Nova Poshta… I specially went there on his first working day and watched as the entire Polish office spoke to him in bad English. Because there were no options,» Klimov shared with the participants of the Diia.City United union meetup, which was attended by a dev.ua correspondent.
According to Klymov, this approach indicates a gradual change in Nova Poshta’s corporate culture from Ukrainian to international, so soon, as the company’s co-owner claims, the Kyiv office may have to speak first in bad English, and then in perfect English.
Klymov added that traditionally the absolute majority of positions in foreign representative offices of Nova Poshta were held by Ukrainians — this applies to both office positions and management, and employees in branches.
«It was the end of 2022, there were quite a lot of people, Ukrainians in particular. There were also people who had once worked with Nova Poshta. That is, from country managers to branch employees, we had no problems with people who understood what Nova Poshta was,» said the co-owner of the NOVA group of companies.
He added that Nova Poshta abroad «is still running on this fuel,» because Klimov cannot imagine better people in front-line service than Ukrainians.
«Of course, I don’t want to offend our European colleagues, but I haven’t seen anyone better or smarter than Ukrainians on the front line yet,» says Vyacheslav Klimov.
However, as for top management and sales departments abroad, according to Klimov, the situation is somewhat different.
«We quickly realized that we needed to invite locals to the sales, although it didn’t happen right away,» the co-owner of Nova Poshta shared his experience.
