Kyivstar plans to close deal with Uklon in the near future. The operator is also looking for an internet provider to acquire

President of Kyivstar Oleksandr Komarov announced the imminent closing of the deal to purchase the Uklon taxi service .

«We aim to close it in the near future. I cannot directly name the amount or even the order of the figures, but after its completion we will openly report on the details as part of the reporting,» he said in an interview with Economic Truth.

Komarov noted that the company has a vision of building a digital operator that unites services with a high level of customer engagement. «Then you have the opportunity to build an ecosystem of such services, linking them with each other through different levels of synergy. The first obvious synergy for customers is the loyalty program: interaction with any service in the ecosystem brings bonuses. Then there is the opportunity to combine services, for example: after 10 deliveries, mobile communication is free. This forms a unique value proposition beyond direct competition,» said the Kyivstar top manager.

In addition, he said, such businesses can be scaled by entering new markets. «We have opportunities for aggressive development, for example, in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan or other countries. This is really inspiring, because it would be interesting to launch Helsi or other services in several new countries where Veon is present,» Komarov specified.

The company is not currently commenting on the agreement to acquire the drug delivery service Tabletki.ua. However, Komarov said that Kyivstar is currently actively looking for an internet provider to acquire.

«Many companies are not ready to sell, and an inflated price often indicates this. Secondly, the level of financial reporting is an important factor. Kyivstar, as a public company, adheres to high standards of transparency and compliance, so before any deal, it is necessary to carefully assess the risks. Some companies do not meet these requirements, and to conclude a deal, the level of compliance should be as close as possible. Last year, we acquired a small Internet provider in Boryspil with a base of about 20 thousand subscribers in order to test all stages of integrating a telecom or infrastructure business,» said Komarov.

He added that the company is currently considering several larger fixed-line operators and is keeping them in focus.
