Ukrainian studio The Future Entertainment Company announced that its game DDoD has officially crossed the 50,000 wishlist mark on Steam. According to this indicator, it is among the 1,000 most popular projects on the service.
DDoD is a tactical roguelite shooter that can be played both solo and in co-op. The game takes place around an abandoned industrial zone that has become the source of a biological anomaly in Eastern Europe.
«You arrive at the edge of the Purple Lands, a mysterious industrial zone afflicted by a seemingly intelligent, intelligent substance. The locals call it the Mist. The Mist’s influence distorts DNA in strange ways. Those who are cautious and risk-averse sometimes gain abilities that no human can handle,» the game’s description says.
Each run in DDoD starts at a base where you need to reach the source of the anomaly. To do this, you can complete side quests to build up an arsenal, upgrade your equipment, and explore interesting locations.
According to the developers, the anomaly in the game was modeled using satellite maps of Ukraine. They say that DDoD combines the mechanics of The Ascent and the atmosphere of STALKER with an open world and an emphasis on survival in the spirit of Project Zomboid.
DDoD was announced at the Ukrainian Games Festival 2025 and has already garnered 50,000 wishlist additions in just three months. As a result, the game is currently ranked 806th among the most anticipated games on Steam out of over 4,000 projects.
This fall, The Future Entertainment Company held closed playtests that attracted tens of thousands of players. In early December, the developers plan to launch a new test with updated mechanics and new content.
You can sign up for it now on the game’s Steam page. Ukrainian journalists and bloggers will receive access automatically.
«This is just the beginning.» GSC Game World released a trailer for the studio’s 30th anniversary, in which it mentioned «Cossacks» and «Heroes of Ruined Empires»
