The Artemis II mission is scheduled to launch on the night of April 2nd — the first human flight around the Moon in over half a century.
The launch is scheduled for approximately 01:24 Kyiv time. This will be the first manned mission of the Artemis program, which is intended to return humans to the Moon.
The last time humans left Earth’s orbit and headed for the Moon was during the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.
Artemis II will see astronauts fly around the Moon without landing and return to Earth. The mission is a key step before the upcoming Artemis III landing.
The launch is expected to be live-streamed, with streams starting approximately 30–40 minutes before the event.
