Co-founder of Ukrainian-American deftech company Swarmer, Serhiy Kuprienko, left the position of global CEO at the end of July. However, there are no plans to appoint a new leader to this role, and Kuprienko is not leaving the company completely. He remains a member of the board of directors.

The resignation is stated in Swarmer's report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Swarmer develops software that allows for the coordination of groups of autonomous drones. The company claims that its technology has been used in more than 100,000 combat missions in Ukraine since April 2024.
Kuprienko announced his decision on July 26, effective the same day. He also stepped down as global CEO of the subsidiary, Autonomous Robotics Systems LLC.
On July 24, Swarmer announced a management shakeup. Kuprienko was to remain as Global CEO, but focus more on technology and long-term development. He was also to lead a new division, Swarmer Labs, which was to work on AI and autonomous technologies for the battlefield. Swarmer does not currently plan to appoint a new Global CEO to replace Kuprienko.
After the reshuffle, another co-founder of the company, Alex Fink, who was already the CEO of Swarmer in the US and the president of the company, received more authority. During the July reorganization, he was additionally given control over finance, HR and operations. Fink also became Swarmer’s chief executive officer and began reporting directly to the board of directors.
At the same time, Kuprienko remains one of the company's major shareholders. Already after his resignation, on August 9, he exercised options for almost 4 million Swarmer shares.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that in March, Swarmer became the first Ukrainian deftech company to go public on Nasdaq, one of the largest US stock exchanges, where shares of many technology companies are traded.
