The organizers of the annual technology business conference Kyiv Growth Summit announced the postponement of the event to a new date. The main reasons were the security situation and the refusal of several venues to host mass events with military and defense themes.
The Kyiv Growth Summit team reported this to dev.ua. The organizers noted that preparations for the summit continued until the last days, and the event was fully ready to be held.
During the preparation, the team, together with the Kyiv City State Administration and relevant services, developed additional security protocols. In particular, enhanced access control was agreed upon, additional medical teams were involved, and a separate channel for operational information on the air situation was set up.
A key condition for the event was finding a venue with shelter that could accommodate over 1,000 people. However, in the final stages of approval, several potential locations declined to host defense-related events.
«But we didn’t expect that our biggest challenge would be finding a location,» the Kyiv Growth Summit team notes.
Organizers are currently looking for a new, safe venue and plan to agree on and announce a new date within the next month. All tickets purchased remain valid, and participants who cannot make the new date will be offered alternative options. Organizers have also reached out to the IT community for assistance in finding a suitable venue.
Kyiv Growth Summit is Ukraine’s annual technology business conference, which brings together entrepreneurs, company leaders, investors, product teams, startups, and representatives of the technology ecosystem.
Recall that in late July, the Brave1 defense cluster postponed the third Defense Tech Valley, the largest international defense technology summit in Ukraine, which was scheduled to take place on September 16-17 in Lviv. The reason was the tragedy that occurred on July 24, when the Russian army launched a ballistic missile strike on a private training ground in the Buchansky district of the Kyiv region, where an arms exhibition with the participation of representatives of the defense industry was taking place. At that time, 10 people were killed and about 100 were injured.
It comes as no surprise, given the many sensitive situations currently unfolding around the world. https://blockblast.org
