The MacBook Neo may be selling better than the company originally planned, with Apple doubling its 2026 laptop shipment target from 5 million to 10 million units.
This was stated by the famous Taiwanese Apple technology analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, writes VideoCardz.
The update comes after Apple's own comments in late April. During the company's quarterly earnings call, Tim Cook said that customer response to the MacBook Neo had been "just incredible." He also added that Apple had "underestimated" demand and that the laptop had helped attract a record number of first-time Mac buyers.
The MacBook Neo debuted in March as Apple's cheapest laptop. In Ukraine, it costs an average of UAH 35,999. The device is powered by the A18 Pro chip, which Apple says has a 6-core processor (CPU), 5-core graphics processor (GPU), 16-core Neural Engine, and 8GB of combined memory.
“MacBook Neo sales are strong. My inspection of supply channels indicates that the Neo model shipment forecasts for 2026 have been revised upwards by approximately 100% (from 5 million to 10 million). Buyers are paying for the price, design, and ecosystem, not for the AI computing power on the device itself,” said Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo previously said that MacBook Neo shipments in 2026 were expected to be between 4.5 million and 5 million units. The updated figure of 10 million indicates that Apple has significantly exceeded its original production plan.
