Ukrainian technology company MacPaw has announced a strategic long-term partnership with American Liquid AI. The partners are creating a joint technology stack that will allow fundamental artificial intelligence models to be run directly on Apple computers without the need for an Internet connection.

The partners are creating a joint technology stack that will allow fundamental artificial intelligence models to be run directly on Apple computers without the need for an Internet connection.
This is stated in a joint press release of the companies. The project combines specialized Liquid Foundation Models (LFM) models with MacPaw’s own developments — the Elix inference engine and the Mnemos memory infrastructure.
The first product to receive an update based on the new architecture will be the Eney AI assistant for macOS. The bulk of the calculations will be performed locally on Apple Silicon chips, which should ensure high response speed and privacy of user data. The assistant will also be able to access cloud models if necessary.
The created infrastructure is designed not only for MacPaw products. After testing the technology, Eney plans to open the tools to third-party developers via the Setapp platform.

Liquid AI is a company specializing in basic artificial intelligence models that spun off from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and focuses on creating artificial intelligence systems designed for real-world operating conditions.
Recall that Ukrainian startups MacPaw and Respeecher announced a strategic partnership at CES 2026. They will collaborate on the voice capabilities of the «computer creature» Eney.
