EcoFlow has introduced a new generation of portable RIVER charging stations, which are noticeably smaller and lighter than their predecessors. The larger model, the RIVER 520 Gen4, weighs about 4.6 kg, but according to the company, can even power a refrigerator for several hours during a power outage.

The smaller RIVER 260 Gen4 weighs about 3 kg. According to EcoFlow, it is almost a third more compact than the RIVER 3. It is designed primarily for charging laptops, phones, cameras and other equipment while traveling or working outside the home.
The RIVER 520 Gen4 weighs about 4.6 kg and, according to the manufacturer, takes up about 59% less space than the RIVER 2 Max, although it has the same battery capacity. Such a station should be enough for about four hours of operation of a typical American refrigerator during a power outage.
Both stations can be charged via USB-C, including from a compatible solar panel. They can also act as a backup power source for a computer. If the light goes out, the station will automatically pick up power almost without a pause. The devices use LFP batteries — they are designed for a long service life and are considered more stable than some other types of lithium batteries.
The RIVER 260 Gen4 is scheduled to arrive in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the RIVER 520 Gen4 in early 2027. EcoFlow has not yet announced prices. The company also did not announce specific dates for the start of sales in Ukraine.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Ukrainian IT professionals use EcoFlow charging stations during power outages. In particular, one of them said that the RIVER 2 Pro lasts him about two working days to power his work setup.
