IREN announced the signing of a multi-year contract with Microsoft to provide cloud services based on Nvidia GPUs for artificial intelligence.
Under the agreement , IREN will provide Microsoft with access to powerful Nvidia GB300 graphics processors for five years. The contract includes a 20% down payment.
To fulfill its obligations to Microsoft, IREN entered into a parallel agreement with Dell Technologies to purchase the necessary GPUs and related equipment for about $5.8 billion.
The new GPUs will be deployed in phases throughout 2026 at IREN’s Childress, Texas campus, with a total capacity of 750 MW. The equipment will be housed in new liquid-cooled data centers (Horizon 1–4) that will support 200 MW of critical load.
IREN Co-Founder and Co-CEO Daniel Roberts called the agreement a “landmark partnership” that reaffirms IREN’s position as a trusted AI Cloud service provider.
According to him, the contract not only confirms the strength and scalability of IREN's vertically integrated AI Cloud platform, but also opens up access to a new customer segment among global hyperscalers.
Recall that Microsoft published a financial report last week, which indicated a record $35 billion in the company's spending on artificial intelligence.
