Traffic passing through the Middle East from the Asian and European regions and back may face delays due to damage to several undersea fiber optic cables in the Red Sea, the company said in a statement.
The company said the problems affect traffic passing through the Middle East and originating from or heading to Asia or Europe. Damage to the undersea fiber-optic cables has been recorded since 05:45 UTC on September 6, 2025.
«Our engineering teams are actively working to resolve the issue through the use of alternative paths and traffic rerouting, and are also discussing options with other providers and opportunities to expand bandwidth in this region.
Repairs to submarine cables may take some time, so the company promises to continue to monitor the situation, adjust routes and optimize operations to reduce the impact on customers and provide timely updates.
The Red Sea is a critical telecommunications route connecting Europe with Africa and Asia via Egypt. Restoring damaged undersea cables could be complicated by regular attacks on ships in the region by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
