The Ministry of Defense has developed a new class of guided munitions, Firefly. Drone testing has been completed, and mass production is ahead.
Firefly has already been successfully tested on domestic bomber drones, the Ministry of Defense reports .
The main advantage of the development is the ability to independently adjust the flight trajectory at an altitude of up to 800 m and resistance to enemy electronic warfare, which allows you to safely destroy enemy fortifications.
Private defense companies will scale up the technology: thanks to Government Resolution No. 1310, the Ministry of Defense can now transfer production rights to them, so the developers of the Brave1 cluster can already integrate Firefly into their own facilities.
In total, in the first half of 2026, the Ministry of Defense codified and admitted into service 1,184 new weapons, including more than 200 ammunition of various types. At the same time, more than 90% of all new equipment and weapons that have replenished the arsenal of the Defense Forces are domestically produced products.
