Ukrainian technology company Kvertus has tested the Azimuth electronic intelligence system to protect port infrastructure and ships.
«Azimuth is a passive detection system that „listens“ to the sky and detects radio-controlled UAVs and their control stations at a distance of up to 150 km. It does not emit any signals, therefore it remains invisible to the enemy,» Kvertus noted .
The company says that at sea, Azimuth can be used for early detection and warning of approaching radio-controlled UAVs. The RER system can also identify the type of drone to facilitate the selection of countermeasures.
Kvertus previously reported that the Azimuth system has received a function to intercept the video channel of enemy drones. This helps to detect and shoot them down at a greater distance.
The Azimuth PER complex costs over UAH 2 million and comes with a laptop with the necessary software for the operator to work.
