Ukrainian Man Made Fly's Digital Brain Play Rainbow Six Siege

The developer spent four weeks to "stuff" the digital brain into a tactical shooter. He trained the algorithm on over 20 TB of gameplay footage from professional players and champions of the discipline.
The created system has over 1,000,000 simulated neurons. It is able to analyze visual information in real time, recognize environmental sounds, predict opponents' moves, and adapt to different playing styles.
🪰 A FRUIT FLY JUST GOT A KILL IN RAINBOW SIX SIEGE!

“It seems like she’s playing better than some of my teammates,” Samoilenko commented on the AI’s first successes.
Recall that the scientific world recently witnessed a monumental breakthrough in neurobiology. A team at Google Research, in collaboration with the HHMI Janelia Research Campus, accomplished what previously seemed like science fiction: they completely recreated the brain and central nervous system of an adult male fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster).
While the internet was having fun, forcing the digitized nervous system of a fruit fly to play Minecraft and trade cryptocurrency, Kharkiv database developer Dmytro found a real-world application for it. He connected 166,000 virtual neurons to a flight simulator, where the insect’s biological reflexes natively help a drone avoid obstacles. dev.ua spoke with Dmytro about how he managed to teach a fly to fly FPV and whether this technology has potential for the development of DefTech technologies.
