Former executive director of the NGO Technological Forces of Ukraine, Kateryna Mykhalko, has become the head of the Alliance of European Drone Manufacturers. She announced this on her Facebook page on February 14.
The first international platform in her new role was the Munich Security Conference.
According to Mykhalko, the Alliance is designed to form a single voice for the advanced weapons industry — primarily unmanned and robotic systems — at the EU level.
The association includes manufacturers of military and dual-use technologies, including:
Quantum Systems
Stark
TDW (part of MBDA)
Titan
Among the participants are several multi-billion dollar players in the defense market.
The organization plans to: form a common position of the industry at the EU level; prepare analytics on the role of drones in regional security; create opportunities for regular demonstration of technologies at the test sites of EU countries — both Ukrainian developments and products of companies from member states.
Mykhalko called the new appointment a logical continuation of her work on the development of Ukraine’s defense and technological ecosystem and its integration into the European security architecture. Among the priorities for the coming months are the formation of the Alliance’s operational structure and the creation of a team.
She also emphasized that she lives and plans to continue living in Ukraine.
