IT-professional Mykyta Kalugin died in the war with Russia
In early June, 32-year-old Nikita Kalugin, who served in the Typhoon special-purpose unmanned systems unit, was killed during a combat mission. Before joining the Defense Forces, he worked as a business analyst at Graintrack and Globaldev Group.

According to DOU, Mykyta Kalugin was born in Crimea and lived in Odessa all his life. In 2022–2023, he worked at Globaldev Group, and from 2023 to 2024, at Graintrack. He was mobilized in August 2024 and served in the National Guard of Ukraine.
«Although we worked a year and a half ago and that cooperation lasted several months, I remember Mykyta very well. He impressed me with his initiative and creativity… I also remember his gradual transition to the Ukrainian language, which was not easy to overcome, but he did it. Great respect and eternal memory to Mykyta,» Graintrack CEO Dmytro Mykhalchuk remembered the deceased IT worker.
Welltech’s growth manager and Kalugin’s brother Dmitry Sorokin said that Mykyta had an analytical mindset and helped set up processes in the division.
«Mykyta was kind and bright, very positive and confident in what he was doing. He coped well with all the challenges that came his way. His brothers are infinitely sorry that the circumstances turned out this way and we all lost Mykyta,» Sorokin noted.
Nikita Kalugin is survived by his wife, Kateryna. Nikita’s siblings organized a fundraiser to support his family.
