The Ukrainian company Abacus-Tech has developed the NAMET-8, an electronic warfare complex that can automatically turn on when intelligence assets detect a threat from enemy drones and turn off when the threat disappears.

Representatives of Abacus-Tech told Military about the new development. The complex is currently undergoing testing.

Typically, electronic warfare systems (EW) work in conjunction with drone detectors, requiring an operator to monitor signals and activate suppression when a threat is detected. But the new system has automated this process.

The NAMET-8 can receive signals from electronic intelligence (EIR) systems that detect and recognize threats. The system then automatically creates radio interference at the appropriate frequencies to disrupt enemy drones.

When the threat disappears, the system stops suppressing. The NAMET-8 can also be configured to stop suppressing when the threat disappears or when its own drones are in the air.

"There are three results from this: no friendly fire, no constant radiation, and therefore no unmasking, and energy resources are saved, which are worth their weight in gold on the front line," Abacus-Tech explained.

The complex can be controlled remotely, in particular from a secure control point. For this purpose, a web interface, API and the SAPIENT protocol are provided, which allows combining equipment into automated systems. There is also a remote control with manual and automatic modes.

The complex is based on a small concentrator weighing 5 kg, to which up to eight antenna modules can be connected. Antennas can be different. Dome ones create a protection zone around equipment or an object, and directional ones concentrate interference in a certain sector to counteract drones at a greater distance.

The company also envisions the ability to fine-tune the jamming, so that instead of scattering power over a wide frequency range, it can be focused where it's needed. According to the company, this approach can significantly increase the range and effectiveness of the jamming without additional energy consumption.

Earlier, dev.ua wrote that Ukrainian developers of the Ai-Petri complex launched an automated control system for countering drones. It coordinates the work of electronic warfare and interceptor drones and selects frequencies so that Ukrainian defenses do not interfere with each other.
