Air3F's Varkhan ground robot has received codification from the Ministry of Defense and is already performing tasks at the front
The Ukrainian ground robotic complex Varkhan, developed by the domestic company Air3F, has been officially codified and approved for operation in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The robot is already in mass production and is actively used on the front lines for logistical missions in high-risk areas.
The Ukrainian ground robotic complex Varkhan, developed by the domestic company Air3F, has been officially codified and approved for operation in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The robot is already in mass production and is actively used on the front lines for logistical missions in high-risk areas.
The main task of the NRC is to transport ammunition, provisions, and other critical cargo to positions where it is too dangerous to deliver them by personnel due to enemy fire.
Technical characteristics and cross-country ability
Varkhan is built on a 4×4 all-wheel drive chassis with dependent suspension. The 220 mm ground clearance allows the vehicle to confidently overcome difficult terrain, off-road conditions, and obstacles on the front line.
Load capacity: up to 300 kg.
Range with cargo: up to 37 km on average terrain.
Range without load: up to 50 km.
Maximum speed: up to 20 km/h.
Autonomy and communication system
The developers have placed special emphasis on the duration of autonomous operation and minimizing maintenance time. The complex is capable of operating for up to 72 hours. Power is provided by quick-change batteries, which allows the robot to be quickly prepared for new trips without long downtime for charging.
To operate in conditions of dense electronic warfare and at different distances, Varkhan uses a flexible communication system:
Protected analog radio channel;
Possibility of integration with the Starlink satellite terminal;
LTE cellular support.
To perform tasks at night, the robot is equipped with infrared lighting.
Part of a larger ecosystem
The Varkhan UAV is part of a comprehensive ecosystem of solutions from Air3F. The ground robot works in conjunction with the company's other products - T-Bone ground control stations, masts, antenna trackers, repeaters and rotary mechanisms, which ensures stable control of the drone on the battlefield.
Official codification paves the way for systematic scaling of production and official procurement of the complex for the needs of Ukrainian defenders.
