Neoversity held AI Conf 2025 — the largest online event on AI in Ukraine

• 9,000 participants — developers, product managers, CEOs, CTOs, representatives of government agencies and startups.
• 6,000 participants is the peak of simultaneous online presence.
• Over 8,500 views of the YouTube broadcast per day.

Among the speakers at AI Conf 2025 are representatives of the public sector, the IT community, CTOs, leading specialists, entrepreneurs from the Ministry of Digital Affairs, IT Ukraine Association, Netflix, Preply, VibeVenture, and other companies.

Sandbox is not about control, but about development

For the first time, AI Conf 2025 hosted a public presentation of the Sandbox project from the Ministry of Digital Affairs — a space for testing AI solutions and cooperation between startups and the state.

«Despite the war in Ukraine, there are enough ideas, specialists, and ambitions to be among the leaders in the field of AI. Our goal is an annual growth of AI startups by at least 50%. We created Sandbox as a tool that gives companies the opportunity to test their solutions, get an audit, and enter the market. Sandbox is not about control, but about joint development of solutions,» emphasized Olga Osinska, head of the Sandbox project from the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ukrainian Startup Fund.

The IT industry needs not new jobs, but new thinking

Artificial intelligence is the norm, requiring new training for specialists. Neoversity presented updated online master’s programs: Software Engineering & AI, Cybersecurity & AI, AI & Machine Learning with a focus on generative models, MLOps, AI agents, and practice on real cases.

AI doesn’t take jobs, it rewrites roles

The technical and product blocks of the conference discussed how the developer’s role is changing, why companies are lagging behind in innovation, and what will happen to the professions of tomorrow.

• A developer no longer just writes code — he thinks systematically, strategically, and works with AI tools as partners: «Before, you built with your hands. Now, you review, you are a strategist. If you don’t see the architecture, AI will write the code, and you will press Enter. And you will be replaced», — Bohdan Koval, Senior Software Engineer at Netflix, Neoversity lecturer.
• Business often does not keep up with changes, and «AI integration» is limited to implementing GPT without changes in processes: «If you just added ChatGPT, it’s not a breakthrough. A breakthrough is when a process that took 2 weeks was reduced to 5 minutes and the user felt it. If this is not there, it’s not innovation, it’s cosmetics», — Dmitry Voloshin, Co-founder & CTO at Preply.
• AI is a new language of thinking in engineering that needs to be learned: «Even those whose work seems complex but consists of repetition are also under attack. Working with AI is not an advantage, but a new standard», — Oleksandr Maydanyuk, CEO of VibeVenture.

The discussions were joined by Kostyantyn Magaletsky, Vice President of IT Ukraine Association, Serhiy Rylsky, Co-founder & CEO of EYA, and Roman Chelyadinov, Data Scientist at Data Science UA, lecturer at Neoversity. They outlined common challenges for the industry: shifting roles in teams, lack of qualified specialists, ethical dilemmas, and the threat of being left out of the market without systematic training.
