A truck driver reported the theft of 2,810 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. He doesn't know exactly when they were stolen. But he noticed the trailer being broken during a pre-trip inspection in the parking lot, writes Tom's Hardware.
Since each console costs $499, the total value of the stolen goods is estimated at over $1.4 million.

Police believe this is no ordinary operation, as the attackers targeted a new, popular product that had just hit the market. This means they had to have some intelligence to determine which one to target in a truck park with many different trailers, so they likely had information from Washington State to know which one was carrying the product.
According to the driver himself, he did not know about the contents of the trailer - only that it contained games or toys.

Nintendo tracks the serial numbers of its consoles, and it's possible they already know the serial numbers of the stolen batch. And given how connected everything is these days, there's a chance the company could hack one of those stolen systems once they're connected to the internet.
