Oleksandr Zhyvotovskyi leaves the post of Chairman of the National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications

Today is the last working day of the Chairman of the National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequencies and Postal Services (NCEC), Oleksandr Zhyvotovsky. The reason for leaving the position is due to the expiration of his term of office .

«Under his leadership, our country made a bold breakthrough — from the first steps of 3G to the confident launch of 4G and preparation for the future with 5G. Thanks to his determination and principledness, we saw transparent and fair auctions that made it possible to implement modern technologies faster, and millions of Ukrainians to use high-quality communication,» the NKEK statement said.

Indeed, it was under Oleksandr Zhyvotovsky that the first 3G tenders in the country were held, and mobile operators finally got the opportunity to launch third-generation communications. And then there were also tenders for 4G communications, which have already been held several times.

Zhyvotovsky was appointed to the position of President of Ukraine back in July 2014. Thus, he held this post continuously for almost 11 years.

Previously, Mr. Zhyvotovsky worked for a long time in the banking and investment sectors. In particular, he joined the national commission from the investment company ICU.
