On September 25, the Government adopted a resolution according to which sellers of new passenger cars will be obliged to provide buyers with data on official fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. On September 25, the Government adopted a resolution according to which sellers of new passenger cars will be obliged to provide buyers with data on official fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. In addition, an electronic directory will be created with this data for all car models.
This is a requirement of Directive 1999/94/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. The EU introduced it more than 20 years ago to provide people with clear information about a car's fuel efficiency and its impact on the environment, the Ministry of Economy explains .

In addition, an electronic guide with official data on fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions for all new car models will be introduced. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development will be responsible for its creation and support, and the guide will be posted on its website. It will be updated once a year.
The new rules will come into effect 9 months after the publication of the resolution. This time is needed for the Ministry of Development to prepare an electronic guide and for car dealers to adapt their processes and produce materials.
