The software is the result of Meta’s acquisition of the Gizmo platform team — a game project built on vibecoding — earlier this year. Pocket itself positions itself as “a creative platform for creating and sharing gizmos” — that’s what it calls these interactive developments. The app also offers a scrollable feed to play gizmos created by other users, TechCrunch reports .
Judging by the app's screenshots on Google Play , it shares a lot in common with the original Gizmo app, which is still available in the market. Like Pocket, Gizmo also offers the ability to use text-based AI prompts to create small interactive products, and also has a recommendation feed.
Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer who regularly spots new apps and features, was the first to notice the launch of the new product yesterday morning and posted a screenshot from the Play Store on the social network X. However, according to data from mobile app analytics platform Appfigures, Pocket actually first appeared on the App Store and Google Play back on June 29, 2026. Because the app is so new, the company cannot yet determine whether anyone has already downloaded it.
Pocket is another example of Meta’s drive to bring AI-powered content creation tools to the masses. The move follows previous initiatives, including AI-powered image generation through its Meta AI app and AI-powered video creation through an app called Vibes. The company has also introduced AI features to its social media and its video editing app for creators, Edits.
Since Meta has not officially announced the release of Pocket, it is likely that the application is still in the early testing stage.
