The Parliament has approved in its entirety a bill that exempts from value-added tax the supply of ground robotic systems (GRS) for the needs of the Defense Forces. The exemption will be valid until the end or cancellation of martial law in Ukraine.
294 people’s deputies voted for the relevant bill No. 15259 on amendments to the Tax Code at a plenary session on Thursday, May 28. The Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy was responsible for processing this document.
The explanatory note to the bill states that the abolition of the tax will allow for faster and more efficient satisfaction of the needs of combat military units in modern robotics. In addition, the decision is designed to ensure the rational spending of budget funds during state procurement of NRC for the needs of the Ukrainian army.
Previously, the Ukrainian government and parliament had already adopted a number of decisions to abolish customs duties and VAT on imports of components for drones, electronic warfare (EW) equipment, and other military technologies, which simplified the scaling of domestic production within the Brave1 coordination platform.
