Oleg Fedoryshyn, R&D Director of DevDroid, told Business Insider about new scenarios for using ground robots.
According to him, the company installs microphones on all its NRCs, and speakers allow the operator to speak live through the robot or play pre-recorded messages. Through the speaker, you can contact soldiers near the robot. For example, to clarify their condition or the need for ammunition. Such systems have already been used to communicate with stranded soldiers and wounded during evacuation.

In addition, the robot can transmit recorded or live calls to lay down arms. A similar feature is already being used by other Ukrainian developers. Roboneers, for example, was shown by the Russian National Radio and Television Company "Lynx", which broadcasted the call "Russian soldier, surrender!" through a loudspeaker during the battle.
The microphone also adds another “sensor” to the operator. The image from the cameras can be blocked by tall grass, terrain, or other obstacles, while sound can be used to detect the approach of drones, other equipment, or people who are not yet in the field of view.
According to Fedoryshyn, new NRC functions appear thanks to feedback from units at the front. DevDroid maintains contact with users of its systems, so it can, upon request from the military, develop the necessary update, test it with the brigade, and deploy it to other complexes in about a week.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that in January, the Ukrainian Droid TW-7.62 from DevDroid captured three Russians at once. The mission was carried out remotely, without risk to the Ukrainian fighters.
