The terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, it is known that TBPN will become part of OpenAI's strategy department and report to Chris Lehane, the company's chief global affairs officer, The Next Web writes .
Hosted by John Coogan and Jordy Hayes, both former tech entrepreneurs, the show airs daily on YouTube and X, lasting around three hours, and covers topics such as technology, business, AI, and defense.
The show has gained an influential audience in Silicon Valley, averaging 70,000 viewers per episode across platforms. Guests in the studio have included Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Sam Altman himself.
According to the Wall Street Journal, in 2025 the show's advertising revenue was approximately $5 million, and this year it is planned to exceed the $30 million mark.
Sponsored by fintech companies Ramp and Plaid, Google's Gemini division, and the New York Stock Exchange, TBPN has 11 employees and is self-reporting its profitability.
OpenAI will maintain TBPN's editorial independence: the team will continue to independently select guests and make editorial decisions.
Altman, who has appeared on the show multiple times, wrote in X that TBPN is his "favorite tech show," adding, "I don't expect them to start treating us any more leniently."
