OpenAI is launching a new product, OpenAI Presence, which will help companies manage AI agents more effectively by integrating them with internal corporate data, existing software, and workflows.
OpenAI Presence is designed to automate processes in customer support, sales, and other tasks — for example, to resolve billing issues, support insurance claims, or handle IT requests from employees, Business Insider reports .
The new service has features that allow companies to test AI agents for specific tasks, including simulations, safe constraints, manual human verification, and automated evaluators that check the agent’s performance using AI. Once agents are deployed within the company, the OpenAI Codex tool can analyze emerging issues and suggest improvements.
Presence is also equipped with voice and text AI technologies, which will help enterprise customers automate more interactions with existing and potential customers.
OpenAI provides access to the service to business clients on an individual basis: to use the tool, users must work directly with OpenAI engineers or its designated partners.
“The agent receives only the knowledge and access to systems that are necessary to perform a specific task,” OpenAI notes. “The company itself sets the rules: what exactly the agent can do, when it needs confirmation of actions, and at what point a human should be involved in the process.”
OpenAI is already using this tool to operate its own English-language AI-based phone support channel.
