Ukrainian drone developer EDRONE is creating a joint venture with Romanian software company OVES Enterprise. The joint plant in Cluj-Napoca will produce FPV drones, interceptors, and reconnaissance drones.
This is reported by Defender Media with reference to the Romanian Ziarul Financiar. The first products are planned to be released in the fall of 2026. At the first stage, the capacity of the enterprise will be about 1,000 drones per month, and the staff will number approximately 30 employees.
OVES Enterprise is an international software development company that provides specialized teams of IT professionals to startups and technology enterprises. The company also specializes in autonomous systems and artificial intelligence solutions. One of its key products is the Nemesis AI platform for autonomous UAVs, which is integrated into EDRONE drones.
According to OVES Enterprise CEO Mihai Filip, the infrastructure in Cluj-Napoca is already ready, which allows you to start work without significant initial capital investments.
«EDRONE ensures the transfer of production processes and know-how, while OVES Enterprise is responsible for local implementation, technological integration, and adaptation of systems to customer requirements,» he noted.
The companies began cooperating at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. In the future, the partners are considering expanding the plant’s lineup to 27 models and increasing production to 10,000–15,000 drones per month if there are appropriate orders.
Recall that in early May 2026, EDRONE introduced the Baton line of interceptor drones — the Baton Wing Interceptor aircraft to counter reconnaissance UAVs and «shaheeds» and the Baton Copter Interceptor copter to engage small targets at low altitude.
In addition, the manufacturer’s portfolio includes the DRAKON reconnaissance copter with resistance to electronic warfare thanks to its own RF-based anti-ship missile technology, KALACH logistics platforms, as well as the KOLOBOK ground robotic complex, which supports communication via Starlink, remote antennas, and repeater carriers.
