“It was nostalgic to fly into this airfield again”. The developers of the UFDS drone simulator have released a mission-reconstruction of Operation Web, which they developed together with its participants

The development team of the combat drone simulator Ukrainian Fight Drone Simulator (UFDS) has added a new mission, "The Web." This is an interactive reconstruction of a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine using FPV drones in the territory of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the simulator developers. During the creation of the mission, the UFDS team collaborated directly with the operators of the SBU Central Operational Command "A" who participated in the flight. One of the pilots personally tested the mission and confirmed the accuracy of the reproduction of flight conditions and physics.
"It was nostalgic to fly to this airfield again. You see how the planes are arranged, you remember that picture. I couldn’t believe my eyes that I was really here and really seeing these targets that were identified. And this mission really allows you to return to that moment. And the drone’s behavior is very close to that during the combat mission," the operator noted.
The creators call the game format an “immersive epic.” The main goal is to preserve key episodes of the drone war in digital form, allowing users to independently complete historical tasks and experience the specifics of a pilot’s work. “Web” was the first release in this series, and the authors plan to add other reconstructions in the future.
Along with the release, the creators of the simulator released a video with a participant in the operation. According to him, during the performance of the real task, unforeseen circumstances arose, and the finale depended entirely on the endurance and skill of the crew. The UFDS team emphasizes: if in the simulator the player can try to complete the level again, then in real conditions the pilots had only one chance.
The SBU special operation "Website" led to the destruction of 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft at four military airfields, causing the enemy losses in the amount of over $7 billion and disabling 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers.
The UFDS simulator itself was developed with the participation of Ukrainian instructors, engineers, and military personnel. The public version of the project is available to users on Steam, and an extended training modification is provided to Defense Forces units upon request. The update with "Web" is available on Steam, as well as in a special military version of the simulator.
