The Balkan Olympiad in Informatics 2026 (BOI) was held in Tirana (Albania) from September 14 to 20, 2026. The Ukrainian team participated as a guest country.
This year, 75 participants from 18 countries took part in the tournament: 13 countries - permanent members of the Olympiad and 5 guest states, including Ukraine.
Since our young programmers performed as a guest team, they competed outside the official standings and won unofficial, but no less important awards, according to UOI .
The leaders of the Ukrainian team at the tournament were Igor Barenblat and Maryna Nadtochiy. The technical committee of the Olympiad also included Ukrainian specialists Anton Tsypko and Serhiy Kolodyazhny.

All four members of the Ukrainian team demonstratively confirmed their high level of training by winning a full set of unofficial medals (1 gold and 3 bronze):
🥇 Vladyslav Khalin, an 11th grade student of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 118 of the Kharkiv City Council (coach — Valentyn Melnyk), received a gold medal — the third result of the Olympiad;
🥉 Andriy Kuzma, an 11th grade student of the Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum (coaches: Serhiy Vapnychny and Ihor Barenblat), received a bronze medal;
