«Controlled arms exports are about the security of the state and the development of our defense-industrial complex. It opens the way to new security alliances and the expansion of international partnerships. The President of Ukraine has set the task of opening the export of Ukrainian arms in a controlled format,» Umerov wrote on his social networks.
He said that the interdepartmental commission on military-technical cooperation policy and export control has resumed work and held its first meeting in 8 months. As a result, Ukrainian enterprises received the first permits to export controlled goods.
«All decisions are under state control and with the unconditional priority of the needs of the Defense Forces. Today, the production capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry exceed $55 billion. In the areas of UAVs, electronic warfare, and intelligence, our capabilities are already greater than the volume of domestic purchases,» Umerov noted.
The other day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has actually begun exporting its own weapons and military technologies. According to him, there will be ten export centers in Europe this year.
The National Association of Defense Industry Enterprises of Ukraine believes that the export of military products can bring the state up to $2 billion in additional tax revenues in a year and a half.
