Ukrainian company Ailand Systems announced that its «Spinner» drone (formerly known as ST1) has received official codification within the NATO Codification System.
«The drone has been assigned a unique NATO Stock Number (NSN) — it is the first Ukrainian mine-detection drone codified according to the NATO system», the company said.
Ailand Systems was founded in 2020 by Dmitry Titov, an IT professional with over 15 years of experience. On the eve of the Russian full-scale invasion, the company created the agricultural drone «Bee», the development of which cost $100,000.
After the outbreak of the Great War, Titov joined the Defense Forces as a sapper. After returning to civilian life, he decided to create a minesweeper drone. To do this, Ailand Systems decided to re-equip the «Bee» — the updated drone was called ST1
«It was a long journey of three years — from the first prototype to the official codification by NATO. We made the best minesweeper drone in the world. Its task is to prevent destruction and death, and successful codification is proof of its effectiveness», said Dmitry Titov.
According to him, obtaining NSN codification opens up the possibility of using the system by defense forces and integrating it with NATO standards.
