Product designer and co-founder of Nurture and Reroll, Danny Limanseta, has shared details about the development of his indie game Cook The Dungeon. The game is built on the Godot engine using vibecoding — almost all of the code was generated in the Cursor editor using multiple AI models.

The IT guy spoke about this in the Reddit community, sharing technical details of the development and the project’s page on Steam .
According to Limanceta, the current build took over three weeks to create. Almost all the code was generated in Cursor, where the developer combined the capabilities of Grok 4.5, Opus 4.8, Composer 2.5, and GPT 5.5. He used Grok 4.5 about 90% of the time because of its high speed and lower price compared to Opus.
«I had a lot of fun building this game as the models become very adept at executing code,» Danny Limanseta said.
The author generated the visual part and 2D resources using the ChatGPT Images 2.0 API. To achieve stylistic unity of the frames, Limanseta wrote a special custom tool, after which he personally selected, adjusted and integrated each element into the game.

Cook The Dungeon is a first-person card roguelike about dungeon exploration and cooking, inspired by the concept of the manga and anime «Dungeon of Deliciousness». The main game mechanic is «Precise Cut»: the player needs to bring the monster’s health level exactly to 0 HP, as excessive damage will spoil the ingredients for future dishes by the campfire.
The project is currently in active development, the developer has already completed the content of the first act and is preparing a demo version for community testing.
