Officers of the Bieszczady Border Guard Division, Poland, have determined that a 41-year-old Ukrainian man is of interest to law enforcement agencies in the United States of America.
The man is suspected of committing hacking crimes in the US. There he faces up to 10 years in prison.
US authorities have issued an Interpol Red Notice for the arrest and extradition of a Ukrainian. This is the highest level of international wanted notice used by the organization.
After being detained by border guards, the man was first taken to the prosecutor's office, and then he appeared in court.
The judge agreed with the prosecutor's arguments and temporarily arrested the hacker. This is the first stage of the extradition procedure, which could end with the criminal being handed over to the Americans.
