Yesterday, around midnight, Anton Karpenko, former CTO of the Happy Farm business incubator, co-founder of the IT company Umka Software, and a software engineer with 30 years of experience, passed away. His last post on Facebook, 22 hours ago, was: “I will never pass timed tests.”
In 2025, Anton Karpenko would have been 48.
"Emergency doctors fought for his life for more than an hour... An embolism attack occurred, and then time dragged on endlessly... A week ago he said that 2024 was the happiest year in the last 10... I will always remember it," wrote Software Development Engineer Maryna Lymar.
“Anton Karpenko is bright, unique, talented, restless, uncontrollable, hot-tempered and outgoing, always helping people, sensitive, naughty and unforgettable, CTO of Happy Farm, a Ukrainian incubator in the early 2010s, where Anna Degtyareva was the CEO and I was the Chairman of the Board of Directors, where 40+ young startups (100+ founders!) got a ticket to life…. Many of these guys became successful, famous and happy (Happy Farm, after all!) and Anton’s role in this was huge, but without him, life would be much less bright and interesting,” wrote Igor Shoifot.
The editorial team of dev.ua expresses its sincere condolences to relatives and friends.
