ANT company created a completely Ukrainian drone MERCURY with a range of up to 200 km

Ukrainian engineering company «AVIATION NEW TECHNOLOGIES» (ANT) has presented a new reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle complex. The MERCURY UAV with vertical take-off has already passed battlefield testing and codification by the Ministry of Defense and NATO. What are its capabilities?

ANT claims that MERCURY is a fully Ukrainian vertical take-off and landing (V-TOL) drone developed in cooperation with the military. It is designed for tactical reconnaissance, fire control, surveillance in conditions of active electronic warfare, and target detection.

«We don’t just create drones — we adapt engineering solutions to
challenges of real war, we provide the army with effective and sustainable
tools,» the developers say.

Key characteristics of the MERCURY UAV:

  • Up to 200 km is the maximum flight distance.
  • Up to 100 km — flight range without connection to boarding.
  • Up to 70 km flight range with real-time video transmission.
  • Up to 15 minutes — drone assembly time from the moment of deployment to
    readiness for takeoff.
  • Flight duration is up to 3 hours.
  • Operating altitude — up to 1200 m, speed — 65-90 km/h.
  • 2-in-1 optics: daytime camera with 270x zoom, thermal imager
    640×480.
  • Electronic warfare protection: two independent communication channels, operation in conditions of active electronic warfare.
  • Adaptive software and three flight modes: manual, automatic,
    by GPS/GLONASS routes.
  • Possibility of starting from any area of 5×5 m — without
catapult, on difficult terrain, in mined areas.

«Thanks to the vertical take-off and landing engines, the drone is easy to launch: a site of only 5×5 meters is required. This saves time and eliminates the need to search for a non-mined field in advance, land wherever you can, and also hit the camera against bushes and „plow the ground“,» ANT says.

It is noted that the complex has a NATO code and is included in the Ukrainian Armed Forces supply catalog.

The BPA includes:

  • MERCURY aircraft — 2 pcs.

  • Base station (laptop, monitor, joystick, remote control, antennas, tripod, chargers) — 1 pc.

  • Transportation boxes — 2 pcs. (one for the UAV, one for the base station).

MERCURY has already passed combat tests in border areas. For this, ANT cooperated with units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Military District of the Ministry of Defense, and the North Command.

«Our UAV does not need to be adapted to the realities of the front — it was developed specifically for the conditions of the war with Russia,» the development team notes.

About «AVIATION NEW TECHNOLOGIES»

This is a team of Ukrainian developers of high-tech UAVs, which has been operating since 2014. ANT brings together specialists from IT, aviation, and the defense industry who create solutions that are maximally adapted to the conditions of modern warfare.
