In a comment for the Swedish Dagens Industri, Kristersson said: “I often use this (ed. - AI). At least to get a different opinion. What did others do? Should we think differently? Such questions,” writes The Guardian.
These words were immediately responded by technical experts, who expressed concern about the use of artificial intelligence tools by politicians, especially for working with confidential information. And the newspaper Aftonbladet accused Kristersson in an article of “giving in to the oligarchs’ artificial intelligence psychosis.”
Kristersson's spokesman later said that the prime minister was not taking any risks by using AI. "Of course, no information that is sensitive from a security perspective is going there. AI is used more for general assessment," he said.
However, Virginia Dignum, a professor of responsible artificial intelligence at Umeå University, noted that AI cannot express meaningful political ideas, but simply reproduces the thoughts of its developers.
"The more it relies on AI for simple things, the greater the risk of overconfidence in the system. It's a slippery slope," she told the newspaper Dagens Nyheter. "We should demand a guarantee of reliability. We didn't vote for ChatGPT."
